StJV Writing Assessment Criterion Scale

Pupils and Teachers use these criterions to support the development of Writing from P2-7. They provide pupils with ideas of what makes a quality piece of writing and are used as part of Self, Peer and Teacher Feedback. Pupils will also discuss these with the HT and DHT as part of the ‘Lucky Learners’ programme, where pupils share their progress, strengths and Next-Steps. They were developed over a number of years with teacher, parent and pupil feedback. These are but one of a number of tools and strategies we use at StJV and form part of developing pupils’ Metacognitive skills for Life!
